comics / University modules

graham dury from viz joined us for our developing a personal style module in second year.
he wrote a script for the june 2021 issue and our class drew it up as a comic.
graham wrote a story about a young boy called donny dodson who owns a zoo in a bin - the strip follows graham's script and i created my comic strip to stay faithful to the classic viz art style.

streetwise opera collaberated with the comics & graphic novels class at teesside university in 2021.
each person was given three to four pages to do from the story while streetwise provided the performance and music.

camp wayward was a submission for my personal style module in third year.
i created a comedy/horror comic using classic tropes from slasher movies.
camp wayward takes place in the 1980's, centering around a teenage girl called t.j, this particular summer she is a camp counsellor and runs into our main anatagonist, skully face.

i'm a raccoon was created for my professional practice module in third year where I was inspired to use a different art style (J.G. Quintel) i chose this method to show my ability in being able to draw in different styles.
it tells the story of rigby the possum transitioning into a raccoon.
( lgbt+).

the egg is an anthology from my second year module that instructed us to make an anthology based on political or religious ideologies.
I wrote my anthology about my personal experience coming across the story "the egg" by andy weir and how that changed my perspective on life.

disorder was created for a collective anthology for one of my second year modules.
it tells the story of flea, a young adult who only just got diagnosed with adhd and the struggles that come with discovering yourself as a neurodivergent individual.
i based flea's story on my own experience being diagnosed with adhd later in life.

BLURRED is my slice of life/comedy comic that was created for my final submission before graduating.
This put everything I had learned to the test - mixing my writing and artistic ability.
I did everything from planning, writing the script, concept art, graphic design and rendering, working on programs such as paint tool sai, photoshop and indesign.
this final module gave me experience of what it was like to work within the industry, our tutors treating us as employees to their publishing company.

Due to development changes, BLURRED had several title changes which is why each spelling is slightly different from each other in different areas of development.
